Product Description
The Deep Drop Rear Fixing Plates suit the Garmin GT Transducers/Lowrance Active imaging factory mount
This "Quick fix" rear fixing plate is compatible with the factory stainless steel mounts that come with the Garmin and Lowrance transducers, bolting directly to the footprint plate (see photos for reference of the mounts you need to have ).
If your boat creates excessive turbulence, the factory mount may not position your transducer deep enough for optimal sonar readings. The Deep Drop heavy-duty rear fixing plate addresses this by allowing your transducer to be placed deeper in the water, getting below the turbulence layer and improving read quality, especially around 5 knots. This is especially important with pressed aluminium hulls where strakes will agitate the water at the point at where the hull touches the water. When this occurs you have no option other than to drop the transducer deeper than the turbulent water layer in order to sound in cleaner water.
Why Choose TIG Integrity:
Increased depth: The Deep Drop fixing plate helps position your transducer deeper in the water, allowing it to send pulses through cleaner water for better sonar performance.
Greater height adjustment: Rear slots are approximately 70mm long, providing a larger range of height adjustment for optimal positioning.
Stronger mounting: the Garmin Uses M8 bolts for secure angle adjustment, providing a stronger hold than the factory mount's 6mm hinge bolt, preventing slippage. you may need to drill out the 2 hinge holes in the original mount from 6mm to 8mm as the factory mounting comes in 6 and 8mm holes. we have provided the upper size M8 bolts and nuts for the Garmin in order that there is no chance is the transducer changing angle from the increased water pressure from now becoming deeper.
The Lowrance option comes with 1/4” bolts
Please note: This product is just the rear fixing plate .you must have either the factory Garmin GT stainless mount ( as pictured) OR the stainless Lowrance active imaging mount only as pictured for the rear plate to fit to. ( this will not suit the Lowrance transducer with cable coming out the rear of the transducer).Choose the box .the factory footprint plate and transducer are not included.
