About this Product:
If you need to sink your 1 kW transducer deeper into the water to get a better reading, you will probably get spray coming from the 1 kW transducer, depending on how deep it is.
You may have heard the saying: "If it's not spraying, it's not saying."
That saltwater spray can be sucked into your outboard, potentially and unknowingly rusting it from within.
A spray guard will cover and deflect the spray, keeping the water condensed at the transducer level.
Theoretically, the guard may also keep water in the vicinity of the transducer, therefore keeping air out of this zone.
This splash guard will only fit our TM2 mount.
We don't usually sell the guard with the initial purchase of the TM2 because we believe it's better to set up the mount first and test positions for two reasons: 1) you may not need one, and 2) we make the guard custom to suit your final angled position and to suit the boat's deadrise angle.
Different transom angles will require the spray guard to be set up differently, so one size cannot fit all scenarios.
In some cases, we can send a guard with the TM2 mount with the first purchase, usually with a flat transom such as a fibreglass boat where the TM2 screws straight to the transom. We would prefer that you check with us first by sending a photo of your proposed position.
All hardware is provided in the kit, including adjustable plastic spacers to close the thin gap between the guard and the transom that occurs with different transom angles.
How to Order:
Contact tigintegrity@bigpond.com
To order a spray guard after the TM2 is fitted, it is best to email me two photos of it set up.one directly from the side view and one from the front. These photos must be taken down at the transducer level so I can see the side angle at which the transducer is sitting in relation to the hull.
We will also need one measurement (see pics) from the centre of the spray guard fitting slot to the face of the fixing plate for the fixing hole.
